August 4th, 2010 - Day two at the Pan American
Championships in San Jose, Etienne Lalonde Turbide, one of
Canada's men foil athletes, started his day strong going 6-0 in
pools. He dominated his first bout but was then defeated by Leal
from Venezuela the eventual pan am champion in a hotly contested
top 16 bout. Etienne said of his loss, "I am very disappointed in
my result - but will take the lesson learned today and focus on
achieving an excellent result at World Championships in Paris."
Scott Dudiak fought hard to win his top 32 bout 15-14 and then
faced adversity in his top 16 bout dealing with various red cards
and technical difficulties.

Le 4 août 2010 - Jour deux des Championnats panaméricains à
San José. Etienne Lalonde Turbide, l'un des athlètes
canadiens au fleuret masculin, avait commencé sa journée
en force en terminant 6-0 après les poules. Il a dominé son
premier combat éliminatoire mais a ensuite été battu par Antonio
Leal du Venezuela qui a éventuellement remporté le titre de
champion panaméricain au terme d'un match chaudement disputé.
Étienne, déçu de sa défaite a indiqué: "Je suis très déçu de mon
résultat - j'ai appris m'a leçon aujourd'hui et je me concentre
sur la réalisation d'un excellent résultat aux Championnats du
monde à Paris."
Scott Dudiak s'est bien battu afin de remporter
son combat du top 32 15-14 puis a du faire face à l'adversité dans
son match du top 16 recevant des cartons rouges et éprouvant des
difficultés techniques. Résultat Final
