Entry Cancellations:

  • Cancellation of entry prior to registration deadline: refund of 50% of entry fee.

  • Cancellation of entry after registration deadline: no refund

  • Cancellation of entry due to a medical condition: full refund of event fees, provided the CFF organizers are notified at least 48 hours prior to the event and a doctor's certificate is submitted.

The following policies will apply:

  • Entry must arrive by the deadline or a late fee will be charged.

  • Entries received after the deadline will be subject to TRIPLE the amount due.

Under-15: born 1991 or later;
Cadet: born 1989 or later;
Junior: born 1986 or later.

Individual entries received from April 22 to May 15 will be subject to TRIPLE the amount due.

Team entries received from May 1 to May 15 will be subject to TRIPLE the amount due.

EVENT FORMAT:
Under 15  - one round of pools of 6-7 (or, if necessary, 8) athletes each
- no elimination after the pools
- direct elimination tableau with no repechage
Cadet - one round of pools of 6-7 (or, if necessary, 8) athletes each
- no elimination after the pools
- direct elimination tableau with no repechage
Junior - one round of pools of 6-7 athletes each
- no elimination after the pools
- direct elimination tableau with no repechage, up to the round of 16
- two pools (A & B) of 8, with bouts to 5 hits with a three minute maximum.
- each pool will be run on 2 strips
- fencers will be ranked into each pool based on the results of the DE.
- the top two in each pool will advance to the quarter finals.
- the bottom two in each pool will be eliminated and ranked according to their results in the
  pools,  in positions 13 through 16.
- the remaining four from pool A will fence against the remaining four from pool B.
- there will be no re-seeding.
- winners of the four matches will flow into the top 8 tableau, (basically an incomplete DE16).
- matches will be to 15 hits (3 x 3 minutes).
Senior - one round of pools of 6-7 athletes each
- based on the results of the preliminary round, 20 to 30% of the fencers will be eliminated
- the qualified fencers will be placed in a direct elimination tableau, without repechage, up to
  the round of 16
- two pools (A & B) of 8, with bouts to 5 hits with a three minute maximum.
- each pool will be run on 2 strips.
- fencers will be ranked into each pool based on the results of the DE.
- the top two in each pool will advance to the quarter finals.
- the bottom two in each pool will be eliminated and ranked according to their results in the
  pools, in positions 13 through 16.
- the remaining four from pool A will fence against the remaining four from pool B.
- there will be no re-seeding.
- winners of the four matches will flow into the top 8 tableau, (basically an incomplete DE16).
- matches will be to 15 hits (3 3 minutes).

EQUIPMENT:
- All competitors must wear an FIE approved mask, 800/1600 Newtons
- They must wear appropriate fencing clothing, which includes a mandatory under-plastron if the
   jacket does not bear the FIE label.
- All sabre fencers must wear a mandatory manchette.
